SU Alumni Successes

Over 500 ScreenwritingU Alumni (SU Alumni) have made a screenwriting deal – option, sale, writing assignment, or representation.  To be in the SU Alumni, a writer must complete either the ProSeries or the Binge Worthy TV program.

Wayne McLean (ProSeries 21) has been hired to write an adaptation of the upcoming book titled “Knock Out Angel.”    See the website at http://www.knockoutangel.com/ .  Wayne will receive “Written by” credit. Looks like it will be a fun movie.   Way to go, Wayne!

Rie Natalenko (ProSeries 1) signed a contract to write a romantic comedy script for Zar Productions, Australia – based on the producer’s idea.  Rie went through the standard Hollywood practice of pitching her take on the story.  The producer loved the take and hired Rie on the spot.  Way to go, Rie!

Jill Maxcy (ProSeries 6) has secured distribution from Ingram Entertainment for her latest film “Black and Blue.”   Jill shares “story by” credit with Tim Swain. The writer is Liz Maccie.  Jill directed the movie.  Congratulations, Jill.  You’re kicking ass!

The midwest National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences has nominated Wally Zambrano (ProSeries 18) for two Emmy awards.   Wally has been nominated for “Outstanding Achievement for Individual Excellence” as both a director and producer.  The winners of the Emmy awards will be announced on November 7th.  You can see Wally’s nomination along with others

Jon Bonnell (ProSeries 11) just had his movie “STARQUEST: The Odyssey” listed at Amazon.com.  Jon directed and produced the movie and was also a co-writer along with Carlos Perez.  Lead actors were Davina Joy, James Ray, Adam Rini, and Kevin Tye.   You can buy Starquest on Amazon.  Jon is on quite a roll.  Expect big things

Susan Ee (ProSeries 5) recently had her short film TOOTH FAIRY accepted for seven film festivals, including the Chicago International REEL Shorts Festival.  Susan produced and directed the film.  It stars Joseph John Schirle, a very talented 8-year old.  (Susan’s IMDb, Joseph’s IMDb).
