Michael Hockney (ProSeries 1) signed an agreement this week to create the series bible and first episode for a Brazilian producer. Working on a tight deadline, the producer will meeting with potential funding sources within a month. If the project gets funded, Michael will be considered for the head writer position. Kathy Panzella (ProSeries 19) has signed an option/purchase agreement with Robert Lenthart to adapt Crooked Cross Factor, a novel by Derek Hart about a burnt spy who needs to rescue his hostage daughter and save a NATO base from terrorists. Congratulations Kathy!
Orlanda Szabo (ProSeries 19) has been hired by producer Rob Velez to write a documentary titled CHIMBRE. Velez has already secured distribution. Orlanda will receive credit as the writer and is in talks to write a second doc. for Velez. Good for you, Orlanda.
Caz Adams (ProSeries 19) wrote, directed and edited four short films for Screenwise producer, Denise Roberts. They were each screened four times during July on Foxtel Australia. Roberts is the producer who gave Hugh Jackman his first lead role in a TV series, ‘Correlli’. Great job, Caz!
Fiona Ashe (ProSeries 7) has been selected as director/screenwriter to adapt the best selling book, ‘The Go-Giver’ for the big screen. The book was written by Bob Burg and John David Mann (ProSeries 5). This is exciting news because there’s a huge community behind this book and that means a built-in audience for a feature
Last year, director/producer Jon Bonnell (ProSeries 11) and writer Alyssa Alexandria (ProSeries 7) turned out a high-speed low budget film called Match.Dead that was recently released in Eastern Europe and Taiwan. The release created enough excitement to raise the IMDb score to 118, rivaling many of the top movies from Hollywood.
Mark Kratter (ProSeries 9) completed negotiations with Radar Pictures (The Amityville Horror, The Last Samurai, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, etc.), who will produce Mark’s latest screenplay. Lee Tidball (ProSeries 15) signed an option with Producer Matt Chapman (of The Matt Chapman Company LLC) for his screenplay “Princess Reborn.” The producer will begin shopping the script (for a director, talent and funding) in the next few weeks. Great job, Lee.

Jean-Claude Lewis (ProSeries 11) was hired to rewrite the script for the upcoming movie “Blue Sky.” The Indie movie is being done by producer Kate Przybytek of Red Pony Productions and has already been approved by the State of Michigan for film incentives.
