ScreenwritingU Alum David Kassin Fried (ProSeries 34, MSC 2) had his screenplay DANCES WITH FAT, optioned by producer Doug Spearman.

The screenplay is the true story of Ragen Chastain, the 300 lb woman who won a national dance championship.

After Regan blogged about how much she loved David's script, producer Doug Spearman read the script, contacted David, and began negotiations to make the film.

In addition, David and Ragen will be producers on the film, along with Keili Lefkovitz.  The film is now in development.
